1976 Buffet Crampon R13 Clarinet W/ Ferree's Overhaul!

One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale. This is a Buffet Crampon R13 Bb clarinet in nickel.  S/n 168XXX makes this a vintage 1976, right in the sweet spot of Buffet Golden Era and just one year after their 150th Anniversary.  (This actually came to me originally in a 150th Anniversary case—likely an extra which they continued to distribute after they ran out of the limited edition clarinets.)  It is in excellent condition:  wood is a wonderful billet of aged grenadilla with no chips or cracks.  The middle tenon looks like it was professionally replaced, probably due to a worn bead, but done so beautifully that I had spent almost two hours working on this horn before I even noticed it.  Tenons are square with no wobble between joints.  Plating about 99.9% with little if any wear at all.  Unlike most of the clarinets you may be looking at, this has just been through the shop where it was bore oiled and had all new pad installed in a combination of Ferree’s B17 de’Jur double bladder, pressed felt pads and Ferree’s premium cork pads.  Plays very nicely in all registers with a dark tone and excellent projection.  Key oil and cork grease are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include a Vandoren B40 mouthpiece, D. Bonade inverted ligature and cap, Reedgard with three Mitchell Lurie 3.5 reeds, and cotton swab.  All in a brand-new ProTec case with strap and lots of external storage.  A great-playing clarinet from one of the most sought-after periods ever, and at about $2,000 less than new!
