1979 Buffet Crampon R13 Bb Clarinet--Recent Overhaul!

One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale.  This is a Buffet Crampon R13 in Bb.  S/n 195XXX makes this a 1979—right at the end of what is often considered Buffet’s best decade ever.  It is in excellent condition:  wood is a great billet of grenadilla with a tight, straight grain and no chips, cracks, or repairs. Tenons are square with no wobble between joints.  Silver plated rather than nickel (a $560 upgrade!) about 99.5% with little if any wear at all.  Obviously repadded about a year or two ago and used very little since:  pads are all in excellent condition and appear almost unused.  Just through our shop where it was adjusted, bore oiled, and had all new tenon corks installed.  Plays very nicely with a darker tone than many of our R13’s, just enough resistance to give you some good feedback, and good intonation.  Key oil and cork grease are for local pickup and will not be shipped, but it does include a Vandoren mouthpiece in a facing I can no longer read, Buffet cap and ligature, new ProTec microfiber cloth, and a new Superslick chamois swab.  All in the slim pochette case which is perfect for backpacks and purses.  A great instrument in great condition from one of Buffet’s most desirable periods ever, and more than $2,000 less than new!
