Buffet Crampon 150th Anniversary Bb Clarinet

One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale.  This is a vintage Buffet Crampon R13 in Bb.  (And we’re about to list the matching A as well!)  S/n 160XXX makes this late in the year 1975, an unmarked 150th Anniversary year and one of the most sought-after years in Buffet history.  It is in exceptional condition:  wood is a nice billet of grenadilla with a tight, straight grain and no chips, cracks or repairs.  Tenons are squared with no wobble between joints.  Nickel plating is about 99.9% with little if any wear at all.  The clarinet appears to have had very little and very careful use.  Best of all, it’s just been through the shop where it was disassembled, cleaned, bore oiled, hand polished, lubed, and repadded with all new Valentino Master’s Series synthetic pads—one of the quietest, longest-lasting pads available.  Plays very nicely with the expected dark tone and huge projection of the era, and a soft, even feel to the keywork.  Cork grease and key oil are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include the vintage one-up, three-down Buffet mouthpiece on a Riffault hard rubber blank in a C-crown facing, the vintage Buffet ligature with the floating reed plate, vintage Buffet mouthpiece cap, original warranty card, new SuperSlick chamois swab, and new ProTec microfiber cloth.  All in the 150th Anniversary Edition case which is in the nicest condition we had had come through the shop, and even includes the original key.  An amazing clarinet from one of the most desirable periods ever, and in the nicest condition you’ll ever see!
