Buffet Crampon R13 Clarinet W/ Extra Keys, Vandoren M13, ProTec Case!

One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale.  This is a vintage Buffet Crampon R13 Bb clarinet with extra keys.  S/n 587XX makes this 1956, one of the earliest R13’s you can find.  It is a true R13 with the polycylindrical bore, and was offered at the time with several upgraded key options—this one having seven rings (an extra LH ring,), articulated C# key, RH C#/G# trill key, and forked Eb mechanism allowing you to use the forked Eb fingering.  The ergonomics of the extra keys might take you a minute to get used to, but if you’re looking for a horn which will give you alternate fingerings to get you around those crazy passages, this is the one!  It is in exceptional condition:  One very short crack in the lower tenon which did not go all the way into the bore, but we sealed it anyway and it should never be a problem.  Other than that, no chips, cracks or repairs.  Nickel-silver keys (sold silver, not plated) which don’t polish up as shiny as plate, but also never wear.  Pads are extremely new, and it was obviously very recently overhauled with a leather lower and cork upper.  Just further through our shop where it was bore oiled, and tweaked just a bit to get it into exceptional playing condition.  Plays easily with from top to bottom with good intonation and a full, dark tone.  Cork grease and bore oil are for local pickup only in the NKY area, but it does include the Vandoren M13 mouthpiece, lyre, new SuperSlick chamois swab and the new ProTec microfiber cloth.  All in a like-new ProTec ProPak case with extra storage and strap.  A hard-to-find horn in exceptional condition that will make you the envy of the section with all their boring, normal R13’s, and just in time for a new school year!
