Buffet Crampon R13A Clarinet W/ Valentino Master's Overhaul!
One of several A clarinets we are offering for sale. This is a Buffet Crampon R13A in silver plate. S/n 126XXX makes this 1971, right in the sweet spot of Buffet’s Golden Era. It is in exceptional condition: wood is a beautiful billet of aged grenadilla with a tight, straight grain and no chips, cracks or repairs. Tenons are square with little wear and no wobble between joints. Plating is about 99.5% with little if any wear at all. Just through the shop where it was disassembled, cleaned, bore oiled, had all new tenon corks installed, and repadded with Valentino Master’s Series synthetic pads—one of the longest lasting and quietest pads on the market. Plays very well with an open feel, soft keywork and a dark, full tone. Cork grease and key oil are for local pickup only, but it does include the vintage Buffet one-up, three-down hard rubber mouthpiece on a Riffault blank with a C-crown facing, a vintage Luyben ligature, cap, new ProTec microfiber cloth, and new SuperSlick chamois swab. All in the period Buffet plush case which is itself in excellent condition, and still has both keys! Sells new for $5,343.97, so snatch up one of the most sought-after periods ever in the nicest condition you’ll find, and still save over $2,500!
