Buffet Crampon R13A Clarinet With New Valentino Masters Series Pads!

One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale.  This is a Buffet Crampon R13A clarinet (key of A.) S/n 134XXX puts it at 1973, right in the sweet spot of Buffet’s Golden Era.  It is in excellent condition:  wood is a nice, heavy billet of aged grenadilla with a tight, straight grain and no chips, cracks, or repairs.  Tenons are nice and square with no wobble between joints.  Nickel plating about 98% with a little cloudiness but practically no wear at all.  Just through the shop where it was bore oiled and had all new tenon corks and all new Valentino Masters Series pads installed—one of the quietest, longest-lasting pads on the market.  Plays very nicely with a warm, even tone across the entire instrument.  Includes a Vandoren 5RV Lyre mouthpiece, Buffet cap, and vintage Buffet ligature with the floating reed plate.  All in the classiest case Buffet ever made:  the plush, black leather with the purple interior.  A great R13A from a great period in great condition, and at more than $1,800 savings versus new—which are backordered most places at the moment, anyway!
