Buffet Crampon R13A R13-1/2A Clarinet W/ Articulated C# Key!

One of several A clarinets we are offering for sale.  This is a Buffet Crampon R13A with the articulated C#/G# key—known by its Fischer designation as an R13-1/2A.  Serial number 801XX makes it about 1965—right at the beginning of Buffet Golden Era and one of the most sought-after periods in Buffet history.  It is in excellent condition:  wood is a heavy, vintage billet of grenadilla with small cosmetic dings and scratches but no cracks, pins or repairs.  Tenons are nice and square with no wobble between joints, and the middle tenon is actually metal capped for additional stability and to prevent cracking.  Nickel plating about 98% with just a tiny bit of wear mostly on the upper Ab key as seen in the photos.  Just through the shop where it was disassembled, cleaned, bore oiled, had the middle tenon cork replaced, and was repadded with all new Valentino Master’s Series pads—one of the longest-lasting, quietest pads on the market.  Plays in tune like a Buffet at A440 with a big, bold, dark tone and excellent projection.  Comes in a vintage Buffet double case with minor wear but structurally excellent, and we have modern Buffet and ProTec cases available separately if you prefer.  A great A to pair with your 60’s Bb horn in the nicest condition you’ll find on the used market, and more than $2,500 less than new!
