Buffet Crampon S1 Bb Clarinet

We are pleased to offer for sale this Buffet Crampon S1 Bb professional clarinet.  This was developed by Buffet as an alternative to the R13, with slightly less-undercut and repositioned tone holes resulting in a sweeter and more centered tone.  This one is s/n 136XXX, 1973, right in the middle of their Golden Era and one of the most sought-after periods for Buffet’s clarinets.  It is in excellent condition:  wood is a marvelous billet of unstained grenadilla with a nice, tight grain and no chips, cracks, or repairs.  Nickel plated with very little wear at all as seen in the photos.  Just through the shop where it was cleaned, bore oiled, repadded with Ferree’s B17 du Jour double-bladder, pressed-felt pads on the lower, and Ferree’s premium cork on the upper.  All new natural tenon corks. Plays very nicely across all registers with an even response and moderately dark tone.  Includes a vintage Buffet hard rubber one-up, three-down mouthpiece on a Chedeville blank in a C-crown facing, a Rovner 1R inverted ligature, and a new Leblanc bore oiling swab.  If you are local, it includes new bottles of key oil, bore oil, and two tubes of cork grease, but these can’t be shipped due to postal regulations.  All in a very cool fold-out Gator case with strap and lots of extra pockets. The nicest S1 you’ll find around!
