Conn 88H F-Attachment Trigger Trombone--Serviced & Ready!
One of two Conn 88H open-wrap trigger trombones we are offering for sale! Technically a large bore tenor trombone, these are often used especially in high school programs as a bass trombone, and are probably the most popular pro tenors ever made. This one is in very good condition: lacquer about 95% intact with a little wear mostly around the hand grips as shown in the photos. A few very small dings and scratches here and there, except for the end of the slide which has several dents and dings. This can be repaired by your local tech if you prefer, but they are cosmetic in nature and do not affect the playability of the instrument, so we left them alone in order to keep the price down for you. (Also to keep the price down we did not include a mouthpiece with this one, but we do have hundreds for sale separately.) The bell is lovely with no signs of having been damaged. Slide is similar in appearance and function—fast and smooth with no resistance at all, and the water key cork has been replaced, though we did this after the photos. All tuning slides are free. This site limits photos, but you can find additional photos on eBay, Reverb, or Craigslist in the Cincinnati area.
88H eras are a pain to pin down, but this has s/n 2910XX on the bell section and D78XX on the slide—far newer than the “near perfect” one we also have listed. Slide cream and tuning slide grease are for local pickup only, but it does include a new ProTec microfiber cloth and the original case which is also in excellent condition. A great playing, great looking horn which is perfect for your advanced student all the way into his professional career. MSRP $5,058, selling new at WWBW for $3,329, so save about $2,500, and snatch this one up before the Christmas rush!
