Early Vintage Buffet Crampon R13 Clarinet

One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale.  This is a vintage Buffet Crampon R13 in Bb.  S/n 554XX makes this roughly 1955—one of the earliest, true R13’s made.  It is in very good condition:  wood is a nice, aged billet of grenadilla with minor wear but no chips, cracks, or repairs.  Tenons are still square and there is no wobble between joints.  Solid nickel-silver plating which doesn’t polish up as shiny as modern plated R13’s, but also does not wear off.  This was overhauled by another shop just prior to our acquiring it, and it was further through our shop where it was bore oiled and had very minor adjustments to bring it up into excellent playing condition.  A warm, freeblowing horn compared to some of our more modern R13’s, with excellent projection and response.  Cork grease and key oil are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include a new SuperSlick chamois swab, new ProTec key cloth, and vintage Buffet three-down, one-up mouthpiece on a Riffault hard rubber blank in a C facing, cap, and a D. Bonade inverted ligature.   All in the period pochette in good condition with a well-done repair to the external covering.  Nickel silver w/ light scratches. A great instrument for those seeking out that early Buffet tone and response, and at more than $2,500 less than new!
