Golden Era Buffet Crampon R13 Bb Clarinet!
One of several Buffet Crampon clarinets we are offering for sale. This is an R13 Bb in nickel. S/n 1138XX puts it at 1970, a desirable vintage right in the middle of Buffet’s Golden Era. It is in excellent condition: wood is a heavy, tight billet of grenadilla with no chips, cracks or repairs, and square tenons with no wobble between joints. Plating about 99% with little if any wear at all. Just through the shop where it was cleaned, bore oiled, polished, and had all new Ferree’s B17 de’Jur double-bladder, pressed-felt pads installed. Plays as you would expect from a 70’s Buffet, with a big, warm sound, open feel and excellent projection. Includes a vintage Selmer hard rubber mouthpiece in an HS* facing, cap, ligature, three Selmer Soloist #3 reeds, and a metal 4-space Reedgard. All in the period pouchette case with the leather wrap missing from the metal handle, but otherwise in good condition with an additional zippered case cover. A great clarinet from one of the most sought-after periods, and at more than $2,000 less than new!
