Newer Buffet Crampon R13 Bb Clarinet

One of the last expensive Buffet Crampon R13 Bb clarinets we are offering for sale.  This is s/n 4129XX—too new for the published lists, but should be very close to 1996-1997.  The horn plays exceptionally well, but does have some wear and a repaired crack as seen in the photos, hence the low cost.  I had thought about sending three or four keys to Anderson to have them plated, but the pads and setup are so good that I figured you can choose or choose not to do that at the next overhaul, so we decided to keep the price down for someone who isn’t super concerned about the plating.  The crack (I think) is up around the uppermost trill key going down maybe into the A tone hole.  It’s repaired so well that I actually can’t see a crack at all, but if you look super close you can just barely see the filling over two or three pins.  Regardless, it’s not likely ever to be an issue, and can hardly be called a cosmetic issue, since it’s nearly invisible.  The pads are in excellent condition:  the lower in a combination of white kid leather and what appear to be brown Valentino Master’s Series pads, and a combination of cork and white kid leather on the upper.  All seal beautifully with no issues, and should last years before needing replacement.  Just bore oiled and gone over in our shop with just a few tiny tweaks done.  Plays very nicely across the whole horn with excellent response and intonation.  Includes a Vandoren 5RV lyre mouthpiece, Buffet cap and ligature, new SuperSlick chamois swab, and new ProTec neck strap.  Cork grease and nearly-full Herco key and bore oils are for local pickup only and will not be shipped.  All in the brown, deluxe, leather attache case with gold hardware.  A newer clarinet in excellent playing condition at hundreds less than our typical R13!
