Vintage 1962 Buffet R13 Clarinet W/ Cork Overhaul
One of several Buffet Crampon clarinets we are offering for sale. This one is a vintage R13 in Bb. S/n 752XX makes it 1962. It is in very good condition: wood has no chips or cracks, though the middle tenon has been sleeved likely because it was worn and wobbling a bit. Nickel plate about 95% with some wear mostly on the rings, but still polishes up to bright-and-shiny as seen in the photos. Just disassembled, cleaned, bore oiled, and had all new pads installed—Ferree’s B17 de’Jur double-bladder, pressed felt on the lower, and Ferree’s premium cork on the upper—and all new tenon corks. A darker and fuller clarinet compared to many modern R13’s. Includes lots of extras: Buffet one-up, three-down mouthpiece (likely a Chedeville blank) in a C-crown facing, Brilhart Ebolin 3* mouthpiece, Luyben ligature, swab, and four Vandoren 2.5 reeds. Cork grease and key oil are for local pickup only and cannot be shipped. All in a compact BAM X.light case which alone sold for $228 when it was available. A great clarinet from a sought-after vintage, and hard to find in this condition!
