Vintage 1971 Buffet Crampon R13 Bb Clarinet W/ Valentino Synthetic Pads

One of the least expensive Buffet Crampon R13 clarinets we are offering for sale.  This is a vintage R13 in Bb.  S/n 119XXX makes it 1971—right in the sweet spot of Buffet Golden Era.  It is in very nice condition:  body is a well-aged billet of grenadilla with a nice, tight grain and a very old crack in the upper which was beautifully banded years ago and affects the instrument in no way other than to save you several hundred dollars.  Tenons are square with no wobble between joints.  Nickel plating about 99.9% with little if any wear at all.  Just through the shop in March 2025 where it was bore oiled and had all new Valentino synthetic pads installed.  Plays with a deep, dark tone, an open feel and balanced response across the entire instrument.  Cork grease and key oil are for local pickup only, but it does include a vintage Selmer hard rubber mouthpiece in an HS** facing, a Buffet ligature with some wear, a Buffet mouthpiece cap, a new ProTec microfiber cloth, and a new SuperSlick chamois swab.  All in a vintage Buffet hard case with padded leather exterior.  A great-playing clarinet from one of the best periods ever at hundreds less than most of our other R13’s, and almost $3,000 less than new!
