Vintage 1977 Buffet Crampon R13 Clarinet W/ Leblanc Cadenza Mouthpiece!

One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale. This is a Buffet Crampon R13 Bb clarinet in nickel plate.  S/n 176XXX  makes it 1977—right toward the end of Buffet’s Golden Era.  It is in exceptional condition.  Wood is an excellent piece of aged grenadilla with a tight, straight grain and had no chips, cracks, pins, or repairs--until we sent it out on trial and it came back to us with a cracked upper, which is now repaired so nicely and permanently that you likely would never have known.  (Please don't take our wooden clarinets to band camp!) Tenons are square with no wobble between joints.  Plating has that light “nickel haze” but is about 99.5% intact with little if any wear at all.  Just completely repadded with Vandoren Masters Series synthetic pads—one of the longest-lasting and quietest pads available.  Plays delightfully from head to toe with a full, dark tone and an open feel. Cork grease is for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include a new ProTec microfiber cloth, swab, a Leblanc Cadenza mouthpiece, a D. Bonade inverted ligature in black nickel, and a mouthpiece cap.  All in a period-appropriate Buffet pochette case which is also in very good condition.  A true player’s instrument from one of the most sought-after periods ever, and at more than $2,000 less than brand new!
