Vintage Bach Stradivarius 18037 Bb Trumpet--Great Player!

Vintage Bach Stradivarius 18037 Bb Trumpet--Great Player!

One of several Bach Stradivarius trumpets we are offering for sale.  This is a vintage 18037 in Bb, ML bore, with the sought-after Corporation bell.  S/n 46XXX makes it roughly 1967-1968—right after Bach moved from Mt. Vernon to Elkhart.  It is in very good condition:  nickel and brass with lots of areas of lacquer loss, but it still polishes up nicely as seen in the photos.  Small imperfections left over from minor dent removal in the past, but no signs of significant dents or repairs..  All tuning slides are free including the third-valve dump slide.  Valves on this are fast and smooth with no problems and good compression measuring 2.0 on the leak detector—typical for most used trumpets and far better than expected for an early Elkhart horn.  Valves are serialized and match the body.  Just through the shop where it was chem cleaned, detergent cleaned, lubed, polished and had new tuning slide O-rings, piston felts, stop rod bumper and water key cork installed.  Note that this is oiled with SYNTHETIC oil and you must use the same or thoroughly clean the pistons and casings prior to switching to a petroleum-based oil.  Slide grease is for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include the new ProTec microfiber cloth, black Dennis Wick London straight mute with minor dents, a 5C mouthpiece in good condition and Bach Corp. 7C mouthpiece with lots of scratches and dings on the exterior but a good, playable rim.  Comes in the vintage Bach hard case which is also in good condition.  A player’s horn for those who know from a sought-after period, and hard to find on the used market!
