Vintage Bach Stradivarius 180ML37 Trumpet W/ Trigger
One of several professional trumpets we are offering for sale. This is a vintage Bach Stradivarius 180ML37 Bb trumpet—a 37 bell in two-tone lacquered brass and nickel . S/n 1265XX makes this roughly 1978, but it appears hardly played: lacquer has some small spots of wear as seen in the photos, but you’d be hard pressed to find any dents, dings, or other problems. Not perfect, but you’ve really got to look closely in the right light to see even the smallest imperfections. The prior owner used it mostly for playing taps at veterans’ cemeteries, and apparently took amazing care of it. Just through the shop where it was disassembled, chem cleaned, detergent cleaned, lubed, polished, and had new tuning slide O-rings, water key cork, piston felts, and stop rod bumper installed. All tuning slides are free including the third valve dump slide. Valves are fast and smooth with such good compression that I think the valves have been rebuilt recently. It actually measures an unheard-of 0.0 (perfect) on the leak detector when freshly lubed with Al Cass valve oil. (Didn’t even have to use a thicker oil made for vintage horns!) 1st valve trigger is also smooth and quiet. Valve oil and tuning slide grease are for local pickup only, but it does include a Bach 7C mouthpiece, new ProTec microfiber cloth, and new ProTec leather finger protector. All in the original case which is also in very good condition. Likely the nicest playing 70’s Strad you will ever find, and just in time for Christmas!
