Vintage Buffet Crampon PreR13A Clarinet W/ Recent Overhaul
One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale. This is a Buffet Crampon pre-R13A (key of A) clarinet. It is in excellent condition: wood is a nice, aged billet of vintage grenadilla with no chips or cracks. Middle tenon has been capped likely due to worn edges, and there is no wobble between joints. Nickel silver keys which don't polish up as brightly as silver plate, but also don't wear, and look very nice as seen in the photos. Overhauled not long ago in what appears to be Valentino Master's Series synthetic pads--a long-lasting, super quiet pad which will last ages with no problems. Just through our shop where it was bore oiled and tweaked a bit to bring it up into excellent playing condition. Plays with a nice, open feel and a big, dark-but-punchy tone. Includes an unmarked barrel which was purchased in a lot from Backun--I think seconds or prototypes or something if I remember correctly. The barrel does have a very short, repaired crack from someone putting it on a cork which was too large, but it works very nicely with this clarinet. We also have dozens of Buffet barrels for sale separately if you'd rather find a close match to the original, or some other barrel. Bore oil, key oil and cork grease are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include a new ProTec microfiber cloth, new SuperSlick chamois swab, and a vintage case with wear but in good, usable condition. Again, we have bunches of double cases for sale separately if you'd rather something else. A great, professional Buffet A clarinet in ready-to-play condition, and about a thousand dollars less than a similar R13!
