Vintage Buffet Crampon R13 Bb Clarinet--1976 Golden Era!

One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale.  This is a Buffet Crampon R13 clarinet in Bb.  S/n 163XXX makes this a vintage 1976, right in the sweet spot of Buffet’s Golden Era and one year after their 150th anniversary.  It is in exceptional condition:  wood is a nice, vintage billet of grenadilla with a tight, straight grain and no chips, cracks or repairs.  Tenons are nice and square with no wobble between joints.  Nickel plate about 99.5% with just a little cloudiness on some of the pinky keys that likely would buff out.  It is a beautiful instrument as seen in the photos.  Unlike most of the Buffet’s you might be looking at, this has just been through the shop where it was bore oiled, had all new tenon corks installed, and had all new Valentino Master’s Series pads installed—one of the longest-lasting, quietest pads available.  Plays delightfully with good intonation across the entire instrument, a big, dark tone with excellent projection, and a soft, even feel to the key work.  Key oil and cork grease are for local shipping only, but it does include an adjustment screwdriver, new ProTec microfiber cloth, and new SuperSlick chamois swab.All in the slim Buffet pochette case which is also in excellent condition.  A great R13 from one of the most desirable periods ever in the best condition you could hope for, and about $2,000 less than new!
