Vintage Buffet Crampon R13 Bb Clarinet--Overhauled, New ProTec Case!

One of many professional clarinets we are offering for sale. This is a Buffet Crampon R13 Bb horn. S/n 115XXX makes it 1970—right in the sweet spot of Buffet’s Golden Era and one of the best periods you could hope to find. It is in excellent condition: body is a nice, heavy billet of aged grenadilla with a tight grain and no chips, cracks, or repairs. Tenons have little wear and there is no wobble between joints. Nickel plating about 95% with some wear on the most commonly used keys as seen in the photos. Just through the shop where it was disassembled, cleaned, bore oiled, hand polished, lubed, and had all new Ferree’s B17 de’Jur double-bladder, pressed-felt pads installed, along with all new tenon corks. Plays very well with that dark, full 70’s Buffet tone, minimal resistance and a crisp feel to the key work. Cork grease and key oil are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include a Vandoren B45 mouthpiece, D. Bonade inverted ligature, Buffet cap, a new ProTec microfiber cloth, and a new swab. All in a brand-new ProTec case with strap and zippered storage. We likely have a period case for this if you’d rather; please feel free to inquire.  For that matter, we have almost a twin to this one listed as well, if it’s still available.  A great clarinet from one of the most sought-after periods ever, and at about $2,500 less than brand new!
