Vintage Buffet Crampon R13 Clarinet

One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale. This is a vintage Buffet Crampon Bb clarinet.  S/n 1401XX makes it 1973, right in the sweet spot of Buffet Golden Era.  It is in excellent condition:  wood is a great billet of grenadilla with a tight, straight grain and a little cosmetic chip off the edge of the middle tenon, but no cracks or repairs.  Nickel plating about 99% with a little cloudiness that will polish up with some elbow grease, but little if any actual wear.  Just through the shop where it was bore oiled and had all new Valentino white Masters’ Series pads installed—one of the best and longest-lasting pads you could imagine.  Plays very nicely with a huge, dark tone and even responsive.  (I am often asked which of our many R13’s I would recommend.  This is the one.)  Includes a vintage Selmer HS** mouthpiece, cap, vintage Buffet ligature with floating reed plate, and a new chamois swab.  Cork grease and key oil are for local pickup only and will not be shipped.  All in a brand-new Reunion Blues RBX case with external pockets and backpack straps.  A great clarinet in great condition from probably the most sought-after period ever, and more than $2,000 less than brand new!
