Vintage Buffet Crampon R13 Clarinet W/ Ishimori Ligature
One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale. This is a Buffet Crampon R13 Bb clarinet in nickel plate. S/n 1055XX makes it 1969, just a few years into Buffet’s Golden Era, and it looks far newer: wood is a nice, heavy billet of grenadilla with no chips, cracks or repairs. Tenons have little wear and no wobble between joints. Plating is about 99% with little to no wear. Just through the shop where it was bore oiled and had all new pads installed: Ferree’s premium cork on the upper, and the lower in a combination of Ferree’s B17 de’Jur double-bladder, pressed-felt pads and Ferree’s cork pads. It plays very nicely across all registers, with a warm, focused tone—perhaps a little darker than some of our other R13’s. Includes a The Woodwind Company Steel Ebonite hard rubber mouthpiece in a K9 facing, a very nice Ishimori Wood Stone Kodama II inverted ligature ($130 new!), new ProTec microfiber cloth, Buffet bore swab, and an 8-10 space glass plate reed holder. Cork grease and key oil are for local pickup only and will not be shipped. All in a modern ProTec case, but I very likely have a period case available if you’d rather. A great clarinet from one of Buffet’s most sought-after periods and hard to find in this condition!
