Vintage Buffet Crampon R13A Clarinet With Recent Overhaul!

One of several A clarinets we are offering for sale.  This is a vintage Buffet Crampon R13A in nickel plate.  S/n 110XXX makes this 1969, right in the middle of Buffet’s Golden Era.  It is in very good condition:  wood is a delightful billet of aged grenadilla with no chips, cracks or repairs and square tenons with no wobble between joints.  It does have extensive plating wear, and it’s been on our project shelf for a while as we debated whether to send it off to Anderson for replating or not.  We’ve hesitated to do that since this was quite delightfully overhauled just prior to us acquiring the instrument, with a standard lower and a very nice cork upper.  It plays just about perfectly with that big, dark tone, open feel, and excellent projection that you’d expect from a 60’s R13.  So, since someone just asked us for a 60’s R13A which was a “diamond in the rough,” we decided to let someone enjoy several hundred dollars in savings and an exceptional instrument this Christmas.  Cork grease and key oil are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include the new ProTec microfiber cloth, swab, and Buffet double case.
