1960 Buffet Crampon R13 Clarinet W/ Moennig Barrel

One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale. This is a Buffet Crampon R13 in Bb. S/n 65XXX makes it 1960--a nice, vintage horn from the early R13 years. This one is in excellent condition:  wood is a nice, aged billet of grenadilla with a tight grain and no chips, cracks, pines or repairs. Tenons are very good with no wobble between joints. Nickel silver keys which don't polish up as shiny as plated keys, but also don't wear out. Just through the shop in March 2026 where it was disassembled, cleaned, bore oiled, hand polished, lubed, had all new tenon corks installed, and was repadded with white kid leather pads. One of the darkest, most open instruments of the dozens of R13's we have in stock right now, with a very soft feel to the keywork. Barrel is a more recent (I think) Moennig 67 which greatly helps to tighten up the intonation. Cork grease, key oil and bore oil are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include a vintage Buffet one-up, three-down mouthpiece on a Riffault blank, a Buffet ligature and cap, vintage case humidifier, new ProTec microfiber cloth, and new SuperSlick chamois swab. All in the Lifton-made Buffet case with some frayed edges and tape cover a small section, but in good structural condition. A great-playing instrument from a great period for those who prefer that early Buffet sound and feel with a traditional overhaul!
