1963 Buffet Crampon R13A Clarinet W/ Valentino Master's Overhaul!
One of several professional A clarinets we are offering for sale. This is a Buffet Crampon R13A in nickel plate. S/n 75XXX makes this a vintage 1963, and it is in exceptional condition: body is an dense, heavy billed of aged grenadilla with a tight, straight grain and no chips, cracks or repairs othr than a very short hairline crack in the socket of the bell which is repaired so nicely that you probably would never have known it was there, and is non-weightbearing due to the tenon ring. (And if you'd rather have a different Buffet bell or perhaps a Backun or ICON, we have bunches for sale separately.) Tenons are nice and square with no wobble between joints. Nickel plating about 99% with a very tiny bit of wear just starting on a couple of key tips. Best of all, this is just through the shop in October, 2026 where it was disassembled, cleaned, bore oiled, lubed, polished, had a new center tenon cork installed, and was repadded with all new Valentino Master's Series synthetic pads—one of the longest-lasting, trouble-free pads available. It plays very nicely from top to bottom with a soft feel to the key work, a dark, centered tone, and just enough resistance to give you good control and response. Key oil and cork grease are for local pickup only and won't be shipped, but it does incliude a new ProTec microfiber cloth, new SuperSlick chamois swab, the original Buffet Bb/A double pochette case, and a brand new Kaces double case cover giving you superior weather protection, padding, lots of zippered storage, and a shoulder strap. Currently sells for a whopping $5,417 at the "discount" M&A site, so save more than $2,500, and snatch up the nicest one you'll find available from one of the best periods ever!
