1972 Conn 88H Artist Symphony Trigger Trombone
One of several intermediate and professional trigger trombones we will be offering for sale this shool year! This is a Conn 88H Artist Symphony large bore tenor trombone with F-attachment. The serial number on the slide is R22XXX, which should make it 1972—an early Abilene (transitional) horn. This one is in excellent condition: lacquer about 95% with some scattered wear mostly around the hand grips as usual. Just back from the shop where it had the slide and trigger serviced, the water key cork replaced, was lubed, and had some dents removed mostly along the main tuning slide. Small, scattered dings and imperfections left over from the dent work, but no significant dents or problems. Slide stockings are clean and beautiful with just the very tiniest bit of wear, all tuning slides free, main slide is fast and smooth and silky. Spring barrels are intact. No mouthpiece because we have hundreds for sale separately and are happy to combine shipping. Includes the lyre and original paperwork in the original case which is itself in great condition with very little wear at all. The most popular large-bore trigger horn for decades, currently $3,699 at M&S. So . . . save more than $2,000 and snatch up the nicest one from this period you’ll find online!
