1976 Buffet Crampon R13 Bb Clarinet

 
One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale.  This is a Buffet Crampon R13 in Bb.  S/n 167XXX makes this a vintage 1976, right in the sweet spot of Buffet’s Golden Era.  It is in excellent condition:  Nickel plating about 99.5% with little if any wear.  Wood body has no chips, cracks, or repairs other than a small sliver off the edge of the center tenon as seen in the photos, which is cosmetic and not worth repairing.  Just through the shop where it had all new tenon corks and new Valentino synthetic pads installed—one of the longest lasting, quietest pads you can get.  Plays very well across all registers with even intonation, a warm tone and a soft feel to the keywork.  Key oil and cork grease are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include a mouthpiece, a Rovner or Rovner-style inverted ligature, six Vandoren MS reeds, a new ProTec microfiber cloth, and a new SuperSlick chamois swab.  All in a good ProTec case which is a little dirty on the exterior but is in excellent condition and includes the strap.  A great-playing clarinet in great condition from one of the most sought-after periods ever, and more than $2,000 less than brand new!
