1978 Buffet Crampon R13 Bb Clarinet W/ Valentino Master's Overhaul!

One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale.  This is a Buffet Crampon R13 clarinet in Bb.  S/n 184XXX makes this 1978—right at the end of Buffet’s best period ever.  It is in exceptional condition:  silver plated rather than nickel (a $336 upgrade!) about 99.5% with little if any wear at all.  Body is an excellent billet of aged grenadilla with no chips, cracks, repairs or bore damage.  Tenons are square with little wear an no wobble between joints.  Just through the shop where it was bore oiled, had all new tenon corks installed, and was repadded with Valentino Master’s Series synthetic pads—one of the quietest and longest-lasting pads available.  Plays delightfully from top to bottom with excellent intonation, and a big, bold tone with little resistance.  Cork grease and key oil are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include a new ProTec microfiber cloth and a cotton bore swab. All in the deluxe, brown leather attache case with gold hardware—also in very good condition with a new handle and just normal cosmetic wear.  Currently sell new at M&A for $4,552, so save more than $2,500, and snatch up one of the nicest silver R13’s you’ll find from one of the most sought-after periods ever!
