Bach Artisan AB190S Silver Trumpet--Gorgeous!
Bach Artisan AB190S silver Bb trumpet for sale. Very good condition: silver plate about 96% intact with very light, scattered wear as seen in the photos, and just a few small dings and blemishes. The bell is very slightly pressed in at the main brace, and there is an old repair where it looks like a prior tech took a dent out of the main tuning slide, punctured it, and patched with low-temp silver solder. It is 100% sealed, and measures 0.0 on my magnehelic. Functionally, it is exceptional: just through the shop where it was chem cleaned, lubed, and had all new tuning slide O-rings, water key cork, and stop-rod bumper and nuts installed. All tuning slides are free including the third-valve dump slide, valves are fast and smooth with such good compression that the first and third slides hiss forever if you try to press them in without depressing a piston. Extended F stop rod. Comes in a great ProTec double case, highly customizable, with movable center dividers, six movable blocks, a 2-mouthpiece Velcro pouch, zippered external pocket, straps, and in good condition with just moderate wear. Sells new for $4,819, and is out of stock until at least February, so save almost $2,500, and get yours before Christmas!
From the Bach site: Each Artisan Bb trumpet is made with a one-piece hand-hammered yellow brass bell with a flat rim and special acoustic treatment in both material and manufacturing process resulting in a beautiful Bach Stradivarius sound with a larger core and a broader range of color. The two-piece valve construction with nickel balusters and brass casings harkens back to the construction techniques used by Vincent Bach when making classic Bach trumpets in New York City and Mount Vernon, New York. Monel pistons along with two sets of brass and plastic valve guides offer the player a choice in response and feel. The 3rd valve tone enhancing ring offers yet another choice in response. The extended 3rd slide rod stop allows the player to extend the range to low F. The 1st slide split ring, enhanced radius ferrules, sculpted bracing, and artistic engraving are all key contributors to the unique response while providing an unparalleled elegance in appearance. The silver-plate finish of the AB190S provides a controlled brilliance to the overall sound. These features combined with a .459" medium-large bore allow the player to produce a spectacular sound well suited for all types of music.
