Bach Mt. Vernon Stradivarius trumpet 1962

Exceptional vintage Bach Stradivarius Mt. Vernon, NY, silver Bb trumpet for sale! Smooth, rich, penetrating “old Bach” sound, very even across all registers, very free-blowing. 43 bell, 25 leadpipe, ML .459 bore, s/n 22769, 1962. A one-owner horn since 1972, played for four years, and sitting in the case for the next 40+ years except for pulling it out to lube and oil it. All tuning slides are free, compression is as good as a brand-new Strad. Matching, serialized valves are quiet, fast and smooth, and look like they’ve hardly been played. The only physical thing I see is a slight downward curve to the leadpipe, and I sure as heck would leave it alone, unless you’re planning to send it to someone like Charlie Melk anyway. Other than that, it’s in near-perfect condition with no dents, dings, or scratches, no sign of dent removal or any other work, no red rot, hardly any signs of use at all. If you do the math, it had about fourteen total years of use, and you will never find another Mt. Vernon Strad that looks and sounds like this!
