Bach Stradivarius 180S37 Silver Trumpet
One of several professional trumpets we are offering for sale. This is a Bach Stradivarius 180S37 silver trumpet in Bb—Bach’s all-around workhorse designed to do well in just about any musical setting. It is in excellent condition: silver plating about 99.5% with little if any wear, and just a few tiny marks left over from past dent removal if you go looking for them. As you can see in the photos, it’s a great-looking horn with no significant problems. Unlike most of the used trumpets you might be looking at, this one is just through the shop where it was disassembled, chem cleaned, detergent cleaned, lubed, hand polished and had all new tuning slide O-rings, water key cork, piston felts and stop rod bumper installed. Valves are smooth with no problems, all tuning slide free including the third-valve dump slide which is so often stuck that many folks don’t even know it’s supposed to move. Compression is very good, and the horn plays nicely from top to bottom. Note that this is oiled with synthetic valve oil, and that you should use the same or thoroughly clean the pistons and casings prior to switching to a petroleum-based product. Tuning slide grease is for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include a ton of extras: Bach Corp. 7C and 5C mouthpieces, cleaning snake and rod, mouthpiece brush, K&M in-bell stand, new ProTec microfiber cloth and leather finger protector, and a Leblanc Alessi Vacchiano straight mute. All in the original hard case which is in exceptional condition, having been kept in the zippered case cover. Sells new for a whopping $3,399 at M&A, so save about $1,500, get a bunch of free accessories, and snatch this one up for the new school year!
