Bach Stradivarius 180S37 Silver Trumpet--Chem Cleaned & Serviced!
One of several professional trumpets we are offering for sale. This is a Bach Stradivarius 180S37 silver trumpet in Bb. S/n 548XXX makes it approximately 2003. We try to offer professional trumpets in all price ranges for all budgets, and this is our least expensive due to lots of small dings, scratches, and other marks left over from dent removal. The third valve end slide developed a small hole during attempted dent removal, so rather than patching it and marking the price up, we pirated an end slide off another horn and just ran with it. On the happy side, the silver plating is about 99% with little actual wear other than a tiny bit where the third valve and tuning slide meet as shown in the photos, and a couple tiny spots underneath the leadpipe. As you can see in the photos, is actually a bright, shiny, good-looking horn that will blind the judges during those sunny marching band competitions!
Also on the plus side, and unlike most of the used trumpets you may be looking at, is that this horn has just been through the shop where it was completely disassembled, chem cleaned, detergent cleaned, lubed, polished, and had all new tuning slide O-rings, water key cork, stop rod bumper and nuts, and piston felts installed. Valves are fast and smooth and quiet with excellent compression. All tuning slides are free, though the third valve slide is a little stiff for real-time adjustment, and you might want to have it loosened up if you throw that out a lot while playing. The brown, zippered cordura case was missing some feet on the bottom so we stole them off the end, and one hinge is wobbly but the cordura cover holds the case securely closed. One zipper is not working, but the other zipper does zip all three sides securely. We do have other cases for sale separately, but again—this one works fine, and we’re trying to keep the price down on this one.
Tuning slide grease and Al Cass valve oil are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include a Shino silver polishing cloth, mouthpiece brush, Leblanc Alessi Vacchiano straight mute, and a Bach 7C mouthpiece.
A great-playing, great-looking horn at hundreds less than most of our other Strads, and just in time for Christmas!
