Bach Stradivarius 180S72 Trumpet W/ Corp Bell, Byron Autrey Lead Pipe!!

Bach Stradivarius 180S72 Trumpet W/ Corp Bell, Byron Autrey Lead Pipe!!

Bach Stradivarius 180S72 silver trumpet.  Owned by a well-known big band leader in New York who died last year.  This horn has a Corporation bell, and was customized by the owner with an oversized (Bach LT190S1-style) thumb ring, Amado Pro-series water keys, and an Byron Autrey leadpipe off a Benge receiver.  (Byron himself worked on this horn at least once, and it is probable that he put the lead pipe on personally.)  A true player's horn--far less resistance than it should have, and doesn't at all feel like the big-bell trumpet it is.  Silver plate in very good condition with some small spots of wear at the top of the valve casings as seen in the photos.  Minor, small dents and light scratches here and there, nothing big as seen in the photos.  A small dent at the bottom of the bell crook which I forgot to get a closeup of, but which you can see in the very edge of one photo.  All tuning slides free, valves are fast and smooth and quiet with very little wear.  Comes with a Peak 7C and Bach 1.5C mouthpiece.  If you are local, it also includes a bottle of valve oil and some tuning slide grease, but these can’t be shipped due to postal regulations.  Brown, zippered, cordura case in excellent condition.   Sells new at WWBW for $3,246, so save about $1,500, and get a vintage horn with awesome upgrades that plays better than new!
