Bach Stradivarius Limited Edition 197 New York 7 Trumpet!
One of several professional trumpets we are offering for sale. This is a Bach Stradivarius Model 197 New York #7 Bb trumpet, s/n 19XX. This is the original limited-run Strad designed by Bach to bring back a lot of the features, sound, and feel that made the early Strads so amazing: lightweight bell on a #7 mandrel, large bore (.462,) French-bead rim, reversed stop rod and more. Check out reviews on line, and pretty much everyone says it’s the best Bach they’ve ever played—light, lively and responsive—and was so popular as a limited edition that Bach brought it back as the current LT180S77, though the current one does not have the gold-plated tuning slides.
This one is in very good condition except for wear around the slides, wear someone used it without a valve guard. The silver plating elsewhere is about 99%, with scattered, small dings and imperfections left over from past dent removals. I’ve included a brand-new ProTec 6-point leather valve guard which almost completely covers the wear, and it’s a great-looking horn with that in place as you can see in the photos. No current major dents, no repairs needed. Valves are fast and smooth and quiet with little wear at all and excellent compression. All tuning slides are free including the third-valve dump slide. Best of all, it is just through the shop where it was disassembled, chem cleaned, detergent cleaned, lubed, hand-polished, and had all new tuning slide O-rings, stop rod bumper, water key cork and piston felts installed.
Tuning slide grease and valve oil are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include the ProTec valve guard, a new ProTec microfiber cloth, and a brand new Kaces lightweight, rigid case with backpack straps and external zippered pockets. Note that we have a thousand mouthpieces for sale separately, and other case or “no case” options if you prefer.
One of the best-playing Strads you could hope for, and crazy hard to find on the used market!
