Bach Stradivarius NY 7 LT18077 Large-Bore Trumpet
One of the best Bach Stradivarius trumpets we are offering for sale! This is a Bach LT18077 NY 7 Bb horn in lacquer. It is based on the revered 30's New York Strads with a lightweight #7 hand-hammered, one-piece bell, the classic French-bead flat rim, a #7 lead pipe with a 30's-style receiver, first and third slide rings, a reversed third-valve stop rod, and a male/male first slide. If it didn't look brand new, you'd think you were looking at a Mt. Vernon horn. Note that this is also a large-bore (0.462) trumpet, and the #7 lead pipe gives it just the right amount of resistance to give you a huge sound with lots of projection and near-perfect slotting. The #7 bell is just a tad brighter than most 37's, and the lightweight construction makes this a lively, responsive instrument in all registers.
It is in near-perfect condition: lacquer 99.9% with little if any wear at all and no dents, dings or repairs. Just through the shop where it was chem cleaned, detergent cleaned, lubed, and had all new tuning slide O-rings, water key cork and stop rod bumper installed. Note that I forgot to put them on prior to photographing, but the stop rod bumper and screws are included. All tuning slides are free and smooth, valves are fast and quiet with no problems and like-new compression. This horn is truly as new as it can be.
Includes original paperwork, a Bach 7C mouthpiece, Bach Gutter Guard, and cleaning rod. All in the deluxe, zippered case which is itself in near-perfect condition.
A great, versatile horn for concert, solo and symphonic settings. MSRP $5,928, and hard to find on the used market!
