Buffet Crampon Evette & Schaffer Advanced Clarinet For Sale!
One of several intermediate Buffet Crampon clarinets we are offering for sale. This is an Evette & Schaffer wooden clarinet in Bb, s/n K588XX. This is the highest of all the intermediates Buffet made for decades, basically becoming the E13, and the K-series are the most sought-after of all. When your teacher says your student needs an excellent clarinet but you don’t want to pay $2,000 for a used R13, this is the choice to make. It is in exceptional condition: wood is a nice, tight grain of vintage grenadilla with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Tenons are square with no wobble between joints. Nickel plating about 99% with very little wear, most of which is on the rings of the barrel. Unlike most of the clarinets you might be looking at, this has just through the shop where it was cleaned, bore oiled, and repadded with new Ferree’s B17 de’Jur double-bladder, pressed-felt pads. Plays very nicely across all registers with a big, open sound almost indistinguishable from many of our R13’s. Cork grease and key oil are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include the adjustment screwdriver, reed case, ligature with minor wear, Buffet cap, and a vintage Buffet Crampon one-up, three-down hard rubber mouthpiece on a Riffault blank in a C facing. All in the slim pochette case with zippered case cover. An exceptional clarinet for your advanced student, far superior to the E11, and at about $2,000 less expensive than even a new E12F!
