Buffet Crampon Pro Academy Model oboe

We are pleased to offer for sale another excellent oboe!  While the common 4051 and 4052 models are intermediate oboes made in Germany, the Buffet Crampon Academy is French-made, and—similar to the clarinets—are believed to have been professional instruments with small cosmetic defects.  It has full-conservatory keywork, including a split-D, F-resonance key, banana key, all the trills, low Bb, and the all-important left-F.  Wood is in excellent condition with the exception of a short, repaired crack at the bell socket which you can hardly see, and it’s not at all significant since these models have metal socket inserts.  On that note, it also has metal tenon caps, so in all it’s far more crack-resistant than most oboes.  All tone holes were just cleaned and sealed, just out of the shop with adjustments and several pad replacements to bring it up to great playing condition. Silver plate is in excellent condition with no wear at all.  An exceptional instrument, far superior to the intermediate 4051 and 4052 you might be tempted to look at, and an excellent choice for your talented high-school or off-to-college musician.
