Buffet Crampon RC Model Silver Bb Clarinet

One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale, and one of our rarest! This is a Buffet Crampon RC model in Bb. S/n 268XXX makes this a 1985. It is in excellent condition: wood body is a great billet of aged, vintage grenadilla with no cracks, chips or repairs.  We did suspect a short crack somewhere on the upper joint only because the “RC” logo appears rubbed down a bit, but after careful inspection under high magnification no crack can be seen in the body or the surrounding tone holes or inside the bore, there are no pin marks, no glue fluoresces under the UV light, and the joint measures zero on the leak detector.  Tenons are nice and square with no wobble between joints. Silver plating about 95% with just a little wear as seen in the photos, and note that silver is about a $375 upgrade compared to the more common nickel. Very recent pro overhaul in brown kid leather pads, and just through our shop where it was bore oiled, lubed, adjusted, and had one tenon cork replaced. Plays very nicely across the entire instrument with excellent intonation and a sweeter, livelier tone than most R13’s.  Adjustable thumb rest.  Cork grease and key oil are for local pickup only and won’t be shipped, but it does include a new SuperSlick chamois swab and new ProTec microfiber cloth. All in a nice ProTec Max case with convertible backpack/shoulder straps.  Sells for $5,777 at many online retailers compared to $3,925 for a typical R13, and crazy hard to find in this condition!
