Early Elkhart Bach Stradivarius C Trumpet! C180ML239
One of several C trumpets we are offering for sale. This is a Bach Stradivarius C180ML239 in silver plate. It is a marvelous horn: the 239 bell gives it that huge, dark, classical sound, and the ML bore keeps it centered and more controlled than the large-bore version. Add to that the custom Blackburn (Louisville Leadpipe) lead pipe and rounded tuning slide with Amado water key, and you have a wide-open, freeblowing horn that’s perfect for pretty much any musical setting. S/n 85XXX makes this roughly 1966—a highly desirable Early Elkhart horn with the Corporation bell—but it looks almost new: plating is about 99.9% and appears to be original, with perhaps the very tiniest dings and imperfections left over from minor dent removal somewhere in its life. It is just plain and simple a gorgeous horn.
Best of all, it has just been through the shop in January of 2026 where it was disassembled, chem cleaned, detergent cleaned, lubed, polished, and had all new tuning slide O-rings and piston felts installed. All tuning slides are free, and the valves are silky smooth with excellent compression.
Valve oil and tuning slide grease are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include a like-new Bach double trumpet case with the plastic still on the handles.
By far the most stunning C trumpet you’ll find on the used market, especially from one of the most desirable periods of Bach Strads ever!
