F. Loree C+3 AK Bore Wood Oboe! Serviced, 3rd Octave, Nice!

One of several intermediate and professional oboes we are offering for sale.  This is an F. Loree C+3—AK full-conservatory oboe.  S/n JOxx makes it roughly 1990—a very new horn in oboe terms.  It is in very good condition:  wood body has no chips, cracks, pins, repairs or bore damage, and silver plate is about 99.5% with little if any wear at all.  Note that this one has had the left-hand C-C# trill key on the lower joint removed by a prior owner (likely because it’s rarely used and was in the way), and does include the third octave and low Bb vent which are so often missing on other oboes.  The prior owner also installed a rail for a Ton Kooiman Etude ergonomic thumb rest which I left in place. I could remove it and put on a regular rest if you prefer, but the Kooiman is great and available online for about $40. Note also that this is the all—grenadilla version, not the AK with the plastic upper joint.  Pads are in very condition, and has just been through our shop where it was bore oiled and adjusted.  Measures a flat zero on the leak detector for the upper joint and a 0.2 on the lower with just the lightest touch, which is better than many oboes straight off the shelf.  Plays perfectly for me here, may need very slight touch up if you’re having it shipped, depending on how many bumps the truck driver hits.  Key oil and Loree cork grease are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include the brand new silk bore swab and a brand new ProTec microfiber cloth.  All in the slim pochette case which is also in excellent condition.  On a side note, we have wonderful case covers for these for sale separately, so please see our other listings.  Hard to find an AK bore on the used market, especially one this new or this nice.  Sells new for about $11,000 depending on where you find it, so save more than $6,000, and snatch this one up just in time for the new school year!
