Fox 300 Oboe W/ Left F, Low Bb--Just Serviced`

One of several intermediate and professional oboes we are offering for sale. This is a Fox Model 300 semi-professional oboe.  We usually overhaul all our oboes prior to sale, but this one had actually just had $240 worth of servicing by a very reputable shop including replacing necessary pads/corks/felts, straightening any bent keys, retensioning springs, adjust, oil, and test, so we decided just to offer this one for about a thousand less than most of our other 300’s.  There is a short crack in the crown which that shop did not feel the need to repair, nor did our local shop here, as it starts at the reed well and ends in the octave tone hole, both of which are metal lined, and therefore the crack is non-weightbearing and unlikely to spread.  The crack is well sealed with the upper joint measuring a flat zero on the leak detector, and would be about $100 to pin or carbon fiber band if it ever does open up, which is extremely unlikely.  Silver plate about 99.5% with little if any wear as seen in the photos.  Pads are older but all sealing well and just serviced as mentioned.  Will play perfectly on pickup, may need very minor adjustment if you’re having it shipped. Includes several keys not found on beginner and many intermediate oboes, including the low Bb, extra trills, F-resonance key, split D-D# trill key, and all-important left F key.  Cork grease and key oil are for local pickup and will not be shipped, but it does include a new ProTec microfiber cloth and new silk swab.  All in the hard case which itself is in good condition, and including a brand-new $80 Kaces zippered case cover giving you additional padding, protection, weather resistance, storage, strap, and lots of swag.  The most recent version with the third octave key sells new for $6,770 at M&A. A great-playing oboe at almost $5,000 savings, and at about the same price as a beginner oboe!
