Fox 300 Oboe W/ New ProTec Case

One of several intermediate and professional oboes we are offering for sale. This is a Fox Model 300 semi-professional oboe.  It is in excellent condition:  no chips, cracks, or bore damage, silver plate about 99% with little if any wear.  We wanted to get this available in time for Christmas so did not do a full overhaul, but instead sent it to one of the best oboe specialists in the country:  Nick Thompson at Tip Top Oboes (formerly of Onks Woodwind Specialists.)  He did almost $400 worth of work to get it into excellent playing condition:  replaced any needed pads and bumper materials, loosened or tightened keys as needed, cleaned, oiled, adjusted, Loctited adjustment screws, etc.  Nick says it plays great, though I’d count on some very minor adjustments if we’re shipping it rather than you picking it up, as oboes seem to hate FedEx trucks, cold weather, and bumpy roads. Cork grease and key oil are for local pickup and will not be shipped, but it does include a reed, new ProTec microfiber cloth, reed cup and clamp, and a brand-new ProTec ProPak case in blue--which itself is more than $100!  (We may also have this case in black and teal available, or a black Micro Zip if you’d rather.)  The most recent version with the third octave key sells new for $6,690 at WWBW, so save more than $3,000, and snatch this one up before the off-to-conservatory rush!
