Getzen Eterna 940S Bb/A 4-Valve Piccolo Trumpet W/ Trigger

One of several professional trumpets we are offering for sale. This is a Getzen 940S 4-valve Bb/A piccolo trumpet. It is in very good condition:  silver has been mostly stripped to raw brass, and someone could actually finish the job, polish it and lacquer it, and have a gorgeous horn if they wanted. Very tiny dings and marks from past dent removals, but no real dents or signs of repair. This was obviously someone's main axe. They took the time to install a very nice trigger on the third-valve tuning slide, though I will say it's a little gimpy and tends to get stuck especially if you pull it out too far. (The trigger itself is a really nice one with a ball-bearing pivot to allow some flexibility in the angle, and the slide itself is free and smooth. It may be fixable, but I'd just ignore it and pretend it's a standard 940.) They also took the time to install a nice Amado water key on the fourth-valve tuning slide, and since this must be installed backward in order to accommodate the trigger, they were thoughtful enough to put the Amado key on the lower part of it so it would drain properly. All tuning slide are free, valves are fast and smooth and quiet, compression is very good—actually measuring a flat 0.9 on the leak detector when freshly oiled—which is excellent for a vintage trumpet. Best of all, it is just through the shop where it was disassembled, chem cleaned, detergent cleaned, lubed, and had all new tuning slide O-rings and piston felts installed. Comes in the original hard case with both keys, and four leadpipes—the original A pipe in a trumpet shank, and then aftermarket Bb and A pipes for both cornet and trumpet mouthpieces.  A great-playing piccolo which can handle a huge volume of air without frazzling out—perfect for large orchestras and marching band where you need to be heard!
