Golden Era Buffet R13 Clarinet W/ Vandoren B45, New Case
One of the least expensive and best-playing Buffet Crampon R13 Bb clarinets we are offering for sale. S/n 151XXX makes this a 1974—right in the sweet spot of Buffet’s Golden Era of production. It is in very good condition: wood has a repaired crack which was pinned very nicely years ago, and has no effect on the horn other than to lower the price by hundreds of dollars. They did a lovely job on it, and the prior owner did not even know it had been repaired. Nickel plating about 95% with very minor wear as seen in the photos, but still a bright, shiny, great-looking horn. Just through the shop where it was completely disassembled, cleaned, bore oiled, tone holes inspected and addressed as needed, and all new Ferree’s B17 de’Jur pads installed. Plays very evenly across the entire instrument with an open feel and a big, full tone. Includes a Vandoren B45 mouthpiece, cap, ligature, and new Selmer swab. Bore oil, key oil, and cork grease are for local pickup only and will not be shipped. All in a brand-new Kaces lightweight case with backpack straps and two zippered, external pockets. (We may have this case in other colors if you prefer; please inquire after purchase.) An excellent instrument from one of the most sought-after periods in Buffet history, and at about $2,500 less than brand new!
