Huller Advanced Wooden Bassoon

We are pleased to offer for sale this advanced, wooden bassoon!  Made in Germany by Huller, s/n 483XX.  Aside from being wood, it has some nice features missing on many student instruments:  Extra paddle on Low C key for added agility, whisper key lock.
 
It has been completely restored from the ground up:  disassembled, body cleaned, keys hand-polished, all new pads (mostly Ferrees tan leather except the whisper key and the bell joint, which are white leather,) all new key corks and felts, new tenon cork on the wing joint only.  There was a short, hairline crack inside one socket which stopped at the depth of the socket and did not extend into the bore of the instrument, and this was sealed properly with CA glue and should never be a problem.  New U-tube gasket just installed by Bruce McCall at Meridian Winds.  SaxQuest put new cork and Teflon on the alt B for smoother feel and did some key fitting across the whole horn to tighten up some lost motion.  They were out of stock for locking pins, but they made one out of rod steel which is working fine.  They play tested it prior to sending it back to me, but know that bassoons hate trucks, planes, and cold weather, so some small tweaks might be necessary after shipping.
 
Comes in a very nice ProTec case, with two bocals, a bore swab and two reeds.  An excellent bassoon in excellent condition, and thousands less than comparable new horns!
