Linton 5K Bassoon W/ Tons Of Extras!

One of several bassoons we are offering for sale. This is a U.S.-made Linton model 5K—a step up from the more common 2K model. Range to high C. It’s in excellent condition:  One very small chip on the inside edge of a tenon which is just cosmetic and not worth repairing. U-tube is in good condition and moves freely, nickel plating about 98% with just a tiny bit of wear. Four key rollers, but one is missing and I don’t have the right size in stock, but it’s likely ten bucks at your local ship if you want to bother. (You don’t really need it.) This one has obviously been very recently overhauled with white kid leather pads that look practically new. Just through our shop in August 2026 where it had a few pads and keys adjusted, one tenon cork replaced and a new cork on the bocal. Cork grease and key oil are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include a bunch of extras:  bocal, new seat strap, new ProTec microfiber cloth, new silk body swab and bocal swab, palm rest, and two reeds.  All in a solid hard case with just a small section of the black covering missing on one end, and even includes a brand new Kaces KUXE series case cover, adding weather resistance, protection, extra storage and lots of swag!  Sshould play perfectly on pickup, though double reeds seem not to enjoy FedEx trucks and airplanes, and sometimes need minor adjustments if you’re having it shipped.  A great, American-made bassoon which has been a staple of school orchestras for decades, and the perfect way to get started while you save up for your advanced horn!
