Rare Buffet Crampon Continentale Bb clarinet

Rare Buffet Crampon Continentale Bb clarinet

We are pleased to offer for sale this classic Buffet Crampon Continentale model Bb clarinet. The Continentale is one of Buffet’s professional clarinets in the sixties and early seventies, this one specifically being designed to play a bit darker than the R13.  They accomplished this by situating the speaker tube a bit higher, undercutting the upper joint tone holes less, and probably a few other tweaks.  It was marketed back then for chamber music, but is well suited today for orchestral work.  It is in exceptional condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs, nickel plating in very good condition with just minor wear on a couple of the commonly-used keys.  Wood has been properly oiled and is in very nice condition.  Case is solid but does have cosmetic wear around most of the edges.  Best of all, just overhauled in black Roo leather pads and natural cork.  Plays very nicely across all registers.  Vandoren mouthpiece and Bonade ligature and cap in the smoky silver/grey included.  All the benefits of the craftsmanship and grenadilla of a Golden Era vintage Buffet horn, all the benefits of a new overhaul, and warmer than an R13.  An exceptional clarinet to add to your collection, and especially hard to find in this condition.
