Super Rare Buffet Crampon Lancelot R13 Clarinet!
Just when you thought you’d seen every Buffet, here’s a super-rare Lancelot model for sale! Confirmed by Buffet France to be a 1977 R13, and thought to be a limited commemorative edition in honor of the great Jacques Lancelot—chief designer of the BC20 and collaborator on the Festival a couple years later. S/n 183XXX, Bb, nickel with very minor wear, mostly on the tips of one pinky key and a couple rings. Wood is the exceptional grenadilla billet you’d expect from the era, with a nice, tight grain and no cracks, chips, or repairs. Tenons are square with no wobble between joints. Just through the shop where it was disassembled, cleaned, bore oiled, polished, had all new tenon corks installed, and was overhauled with a Ferree’s cork upper and Ferree’s double bladder, pressed felt lower. A very warm and powerful clarinet with a nice, crisp feel to the action. Includes a Vandoren 5RV lyre mouthpiece, ligature, cap, and comes in the slimline pouchette case with zippered cover. A great R13 for any purpose, likely the only Lancelot you’ll ever see, and guaranteed to win the bragging rights competition anywhere you take it.
