Super Rare Buffet Crampon Super Dynaction Bb Clarinet!

One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale.  This is a super-rare Buffet Crampon Super Dynaction clarinet in Bb.  It is in excellent condition:  body is a great billet of aged grenadilla with no chips, cracks or repairs and square tenons with no wobble between joints.  Plating about 92% with a little wear and scratches as seen in the photos. Silver plated rather than nickel—currently a $682 upgrade at Buffet!  While we usually overhaul all our instruments, this one has obviously been very recently overhauled, so we ran it through the shop where it was disassembled, cleaned, bore oiled, hand polished, lubed, had one new tenon cork installed, and regulated into exceptional playing condition. Plays nicely across the entire instrument with a huge, moderately dark sound and a crisp, easy feel to the keywork.  Comes in a vintage case in good condition with a sticker implying it was originally purchased and used by some Italian clarinetist. 
 
This is the rarest of all the Buffet models, made roughly 1964-1970, but only sporadically, with only a few examples known, and fewer still this side of the Atlantic.  I’d be surprised if you can find ten of them in the States.  It was not available in the U.S, and was offered as a jazz alternative to the European S1, BC20, and Continentales of the time.  S/n F78XXX, 1964-65, likely one of the first ever made and right at the beginning of Buffet’s Golden Era.  A great instrument for solo and ensemble which will give you bragging rights across the entire section.  Because let’s face it:  neither you nor your professor friends knew the SDA even existed!
