Vintage 1958 Martin Custom C Trumpet!
We are pleased to offer for sale this hard-to-find vintage Martin Custom C trumpet. Combining the features of the Magna and Committee models, it became an instant success and was favored by many players such as Armando Ghitalla of the Boston Symphony. 0.459” bore. It is in very good condition with a small bit of plating wear mostly on the third valve slide as seen in the photos, and a very few, small dings as seen in the photos. No signs of any significant damage or repairs. Valves are in good condition with little wear. Compression is not like a brand-new Strad, but the slides still pull out with a pop, and the horn plays very well. All tuning slides are free, as are the bottom caps. Comes in a period Bach Stradivarius hard case, but we can sell it for $75 less if you have your own case. Serial number 2052XX makes it 1958, right in the heyday of Committees and Imperials and the other great horns Martin was producing after the war, and before RMC took over. This example sold October 2021 for $1,300 + tax and shipping.
